18 September 2018, Tuesday

In the morning we depart from Hluhluwe Imfolozi to visit a Zulu village where we will engage with the children and community members. This village is home to our guide Scelo Mbhatha. He will share some of the experiences and stories of Village life in Kwa Zulu Natal with us.

After the visit we head toward the village of St. Lucia. In the afternoon we embark on a boat trip on the vast Lake St. Lucia. This Lake is the largest natural water system in South Africa, hence a world heritage site. Many hippo’s and crocodiles live in this lake and a multitude of birds nest along the shore.

19 September 2018, Wednesday

Our journey takes us into the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, home to the Big 5, where we travel to the Cape Vidal camp. Now it’s time to discover the variety of creatures in the rock pools by snorkelling in the warm water of the Indian Ocean. (equipment for hire) The beach calls for a leisurely walk along it’s protected shores, where various sea creatures abound.

We celebrate the end of our experiences together with a traditional South African braai under the stars in one of the most special places in this country.

20 September 2018, Thursday

The beach certainly calls for an early morning stroll or swim, and then we will enjoy breakfast together. Then it’s time to pack our bags and to prepare for the journey home. We will travel to the King Shaka airport near Durban, from where the flights home will depart.

For the lucky travellers who have more time available to discover the rest of South Africa, further journeys can be planned, tailor made to suit your time frame, budget and interests. For example Cape Town, the Garden Route, Drakensberg or the Panorama Route and the Kruger National Park.
