Souljourney to Namibia – the full itinerary December 2014

 28 November 2014, Friday

We are greeted by our guides Beate Schindler and Christel Engelbrecht at Hosea Kutako International Airport near Windhoek. Depending on the time of arrival, we embark on a city tour of Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. Then we travel south to the Krumhuk Guestfarm in the Khomasregion. Krumhuk is a 8000ha large, bio-dynamic farm, where many of the anthroposophical principles are applied. It is both a working farm, as well as a natural paradise, where wild animals roam freely. The guesthouses and workshop space are warm and welcoming, and their delicious home grown produce form part of the meals offered at Krumhuk.

29 November 2014, Saturday

Krumhuk Farm lends itself to inspiring and healing workshops. After a scrumptious breakfast Erik Andersen (RSA) and Andrea Antela (DE) will offer a family constellation workshop 9h30am – 4pm. (the cost is R550-00pp for the workshop) We will have a lunch break, and there will be time to go for a relaxing evening walk on the farm. Those who do not wish to take part in the workshop, can enjoy a relaxing day in the beautiful natural environment, and discover Krumhuk on foot.

30 November 2014, Sunday

Our journey takes us north west today, via the towns of Okahandja and Omaruru, to the magnificent Erongo mountain range. Ai Aiba – the rock painting lodge, is set afoot massive granite rock boulders, with awesome panoramic views.

 1 December 2014, Monday

On this day we have time to explore the mountains and granite boulders around Ai Aiba on foot on our own during a nature walk or hike. You can also book one of various guided 4×4 excursions offered at the lodge. (own account)

2 December 2014, Tuesday

After breakfast we have a chance to visit the indigenous people of Namibia, the San in the living museum. This is a moving experience, as they show us how they light the original fire with sticks,hunt or make ostrich shell beads. We may even be priviledged enough to join them for a traditional song and dance. Afterwards we head south, our destination is the family run guest Farm Wüstenquell. Wüstenquell – spring in the desert, is famous for it’s bizarre rock formations, and wide open spaces. On arrival at the guestfarm, we settle in, and then depart on a drive around the farm, ending with sundowners at sun set. We enjoy a delicious dinner at the farmhouse.

3 December 2014, Wednesday

On this day, we go on a guided half day hike around Wüstenquell, which brings us to the special rock art sites on the farm. We also see the Tafoni Erosion sites, desert vegetation and fabulous views. The afternoon is at leisure. In the evening we gather around the fire under african skies for a barbecue.

4 December 2014, Thursday

Today we head towards Swakopmund situated on the shores of the Atlantic ocean . On our way we travel through the extraordinary moonlandscape, and also view the ancient Welwitchia mirabilis plants. In the afternoon we exlpore the quaint village of Swakopmund on foot, or spend time at the beach. We all meet for dinner at the Tug Restaurant, for a scrumptious meal. (own account)

5 December 2014, Friday

In the morning we go on exploration in the desert to find the „Little 5“ during a Living Desert Excursion. This is an amazing experience! You will be in awe of the variety of creatures that survive in the desert. The afternoon is at leisure, to enjoy the town or the beach. There is an interesting museum and the Swakopmund crystal gallery to explore. Many coffee shops offer delicious german cakes and really good coffee, or a variety of teas in the famous “Teestübchen“. We will end our day with a meditation at sunset on the dunes, and then have our last dinner together at one of the local restaurants. (own account)

 6 December 2014, Saturday

We enjoy a delicious breakfast together and then embark on our short trip along the ocean to Rooikop International airport, Walvisbay.  This is where we will have to say our goodbyes, as our souljourney together ends. May you all return home with open hearts, minds and souls: filled with the magic and beauty of this precious land!

Those who wish to stay in Swakopmund for another night or two are welcome to do so. We can arrange the accommmodation and additional activities for you. Swakopund has many more exciting activities to offer, and is also realaxing beach holiday destination. Most places are accesible by foot, and where necessary, we can provide transport.

Exchange rate: June 2014: 1 EUR = 14 NAD (Namibia Dollar or South African Rand)

We are able to provide communication means, in the event of an emergency.

Christel will facilitate a variety of meditations and „spirit of the wild activities“ at various locations and times during the journey, depending on the needs and interests of the group.
