See the highlights of the Capital city of South Africa: the famous Union buildings with the impressive Nelson Mandela statue in the garden, and Church square with the statue of Paul Kruger and the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng division. Experience Freedom Park memorial – understanding the road that led us to Freedom. This memorial was erected, on a hill overlooking the City of Pretoria from 2000- 2004. It is a place where the Nation’s heroes are honoured and where the complex story of South Africa’s road to freedom is told through symbolism, exhibits, architecture and stories. It also celebrates the diversity of South Africa’s people and our common humanity.
Experience the vibrant music, food and culture of Eersterust, a township on the outskirts of Pretoria, where music is being used for the cognitive and social development of children and youth.
The Tshwane School of Music anchors a creative hub in this community that is a vibrant expression of music, craft, film and other creative expressions. Go on a walkabout tour of the creative hub and its historically rich surrounds with a local guide, and see a demonstration of the local cultural arts.
